We are an African boxing-based gym that goes beyond defensive skills. The gym also offers fitness and weight-loss training through boxing exercises to the average young professional, hustler, or entrepreneur looking to begin or advance their active lifestyle. We facilitate group classes and one-on-one training with authentic African flair.

THE MUSANGWE STORY
The gym was named after a legendary, and historic VhaVenda ritual. It is a rite of passage into manhood, performed through bare knuckle boxing in front of the community. It is a calendar event “not to be missed” for the VhaVenda people and their communities. In recent times, the ritual evolved into a sport, moulding the character of young boys and men, and even young ladies and women. There is no better time than now to re-instill the ubuntu teachings of old; cherishing community, respect, values and traditions that enable people to support and develop each other, making each other powerful as a unit and as individuals. This is the Musangwe story. This is what Musangwe Boxing-Based Gym hopes to achieve; ensuring that people of all shapes and sizes, genders and races that identify with being African, can raise their fists as a sign of mental, physical and inner strength. It all starts with building POWER from within and letting it transcend outwards.

Musangwe Boxing-Based Gym is an African gym, by Africans, established by a businessman who also happens to be an ordinary boxer. We’re about more than just the physical, we provide a community that entrenches the African principles of self-love, respect, humility and ubuntu. The gym caters to those who want to get in-shape, work actively towards their fitness goals and learn defensive skills by building POWER and STRENGTH from within under the instruction of qualified and experienced coaches. The gym places a strong focus on women’s safety, a space where like-minded Africans can revel in and express their African identity without inhibition.
